How do I maintain my wallpaper for a long-lasting beautiful result?

Maintaining your wallpaper is essential for a long-lasting beautiful result. If you spill, for example, coffee or tea, be sure to immediately clean the wallpaper with a lukewarm, damp cloth. Use clean water with a pH-neutral soap. Then dab it dry with a soft cloth to prevent stains and streaks.

For wallpaper in humid areas, such as the kitchen, toilet or bathroom, it is advisable to provide extra protection by applying a coating. Choose a matte, transparent acrylic coating or PU coating that does not yellow. Ask your local paint specialist for advice. Don't forget to do a test first to check whether the coating adheres properly to the wallpaper.

How do I maintain my rug?

Did you know that by vacuuming your rug properly, it will last much longer? Sand and dust attract dirt.

Vacuuming

  • Vacuum at least twice a week from skirting board to skirting board.
  • Use a brush vacuum cleaner for optimal dirt removal.
  • Replace the vacuum cleaner bag regularly.
  • Place a good entrance mat to limit the ingress of dirt.

Stain removal

  • Remove stains immediately with suitable products.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • Always test cleaning products on an inconspicuous area for colourfastness and material resistance.
  • Treat stains with Crystal Spot Remover from Progenta, according to the instructions on the packaging.
  • Follow up with a slightly damp microfibre cloth.

what you also need to know!

  • If you have a newly varnished floor, only place the rug on the floor once the varnish has fully cured. At least 7 days after varnishing, depending on the temperature and thickness of the varnish.
  • If you roll up the rug for a while, do so with the top side facing out and store the roll in the dark.
  • The anti-slip backing is sensitive to sunlight and chemicals. Only use professional cleaning agents.
  • The floor must be able to ventilate – check regularly under the rug whether this is possible in your home situation, otherwise there is a risk of discolouration of your subfloor.
